What is Pi Day Dash?

The Pi Day Dash is a 3.1415 mile run and walk around Greenlake Park in Seattle, WA. Benefiting Blood Cancer United The day will be filled with pie, pi and irrational fun. 

Schedule:

8:00am - Registration and packet pickup opens

8:30am - Pi recitation competition - how many numbers do you know!?

8:45am - Costume contest 

9:00am - Free Kids Dash .314 Mile Start 

9:26am - 3.1415 Mile race start 

10:15am - Awards 

10:30am - Pie eating competition

One pi shaped loop around Greenlake. 3.14.15 miles 


Kids dash is a mini pi loop of .314 miles

FAQ

Q: What do I get with my registration? 

A: An unforgettable, pie filled day, a race shirt, chip timing, custom bib, a finisher's medal (that will double as something useful after you show it off all day on race day), free event photos, and a slice of pie. 


Show your race bib on Pi Day, March 14th at Palermo Pizza and Pasta for a free slice of pizza. 10:00am - 4:00pm. 350 15th Ave E, Seattle, WA 98112. 


Q: Can I bring my dog? 

A: Yes, if they are on a short leash. We ask that you line up at the back of the starting area. 


Q: Can I run with a stroller? 

A: Yes! 


Q: Will there be pie? 

A: Yes, so so much pie! Flavors to be determined as we get closer. 


Q: Will there be gluten free pie? 

A: Yes, there is a question during sign up that will tell us if you need a slice of gluten free pie. 


Q: Is there an age limit on the kids dash? 

A: Yes, anyone under 12 can participate. 


Q: Can someone else pick up my packet for me? 

A: Yes! 


Q: Tell me more about this costume contest! 

A: We hope you don your best pie or pi themed outfits. We will be awarding prizes for: Adults, Kids, Team and Dog. 


Q: Tell me more about this pi recitation contest? 

A: Just show up at the stage area at 8:30am, with your best memorization skills. We will award a prize to the person that can recite the most number of decimal numbers. There is no need to pre-register for this. 


Q: Tell me more about this pie eating contest? 

A: Come to the stage at 10:30am (we wouldn't want to do this before the race, after all). You will be given a piece of pie, you will have to eat this pie, with no hands or utensils. Whoever finishes their slice first gets a prize. 


Q: What awards will be given out? 

A: We will hand out prizes and plaques for the top three male, female and non-binary winners. The first place in each age category will also get a plaque and a small prize. Age categories are broken down in 5 year increments. 


Beat the Pie Guy! Anyone who beats our super fast slice of pie (who will be identified at the start of the race) will instantly win a prize.

A: They are a nation Blood Cancer fundraising and support organization, with a local chapter in Seattle. Their mission is: We believe everyone with blood cancer deserves a longer, better life.
